Having issues with pairing your IoTHub with your WiFi?
Please try the steps below to troubleshoot your pairing issues.

  • Before Starting
  • 1. Recheck Your Credential
  • 2. Check Your WiFi Name for Unsupported Characters
  • 3. Turn Off Mobile Data
  • 4. Wait Longer
  • 5. Enabling Permissions
  • 6. Restart Application and Reboot Device
  • 7. Change Power Adapter
  • 8. Use alternative pairing method
  • 9. Contact Your seller

Notes:

Go to 8. Use alternative pairing method if you're having an error message of Cannot find Digicraft-AP or UNABLE TO JOIN NETWORK

Before Starting

  • You can rewatch the quick start guide video to check the pairing steps

Notes:

Start the troubleshooting process from Step 1 if the steps are followed and still unsuccessful

1. Recheck Your Credential

  • Ensure your WiFi name is from a 2.4GHz WiFi source
  • Ensure your WiFi password is correct

Notes:

Move to Step 2 if the followings are correct

2. Check Your WiFi Name for Unsupported Characters

Some WiFi names contain special characters — such as fancy quotes, accented letters, or symbols — that the IoTHub currently does not support. Only plain, standard keyboard characters (letters A–Z, numbers 0–9, and common symbols like -, _, @, #) are supported.

Example of an unsupported character:

Looks likeTypeSupported?
’ (curly/smart apostrophe)Special character❌ No
' (straight apostrophe)Standard keyboard character✅ Yes

So a WiFi name like John’s Home (with a curly ’) would cause pairing to fail, while John's Home (with a straight ') would work.

How to check: Look at your WiFi router settings or your phone's WiFi screen and compare your WiFi name carefully against the examples above.

Solution: Rename your WiFi network to use only standard keyboard characters, then retry pairing.

Beta Firmware Available

If you really need to connect to a WiFi name with special characters and are unable to rename it, a beta firmware is available that may help. Please contact our support team via the Feedback Form for assistance.

Notes:

Move to Step 3 if your WiFi name only uses standard characters and pairing is still unsuccessful.

3. Turn Off Mobile Data

  • Try turning off your mobile data during the pairing process

Notes:

Move to Step 4 if the error still persist

4. Wait Longer

  • Pairing time might take up to 5 minutes.
  • By waiting more time, your device might be able to finish pairing successfully.

Notes:

Move to Step 5 if the waiting time is more than 5 minutes

5. Enabling Permissions

  • The apps required location permissions to be enabled, please ensure the permission has been given to the application
  • Retry the pairing process if the permission has just been given
  • To double-check:
    • IOS:
      • Open Settings > Scroll Down > Go to Digicraft Home > Location change to While Using the App or Always
      • Check Local Network permissions is enable
      • Open Settings > Scroll Down > Go to Privacy & Security > Location Services > ON
    • Android:
      • Location: Enable

Notes:

Move to Step 6 if appropriate permissions have been given.

6. Restart Application and Reboot Device

  • Unplugging and replugging the IoTHub
  • Go to App Switcher and swipe away the application to close it, then reopen the app again
    • Alternative: Force close the application
    • Alternative: Reboot your smartphone
  • Redo the pairing process again

Notes:

Move to Step 7 if pairing is still unsuccessful.

7. Change Power Adapter

  • Try changing your USB power adapter to a different one, preferably a phone/tablet original charger

Notes:

Move to Step 8 if pairing is still unsuccessful.
